American Hero: Marine Staff Sergeant Guillermo Tejada receives new specially adapted 2011 Chevy Camaro SS!

On the campus of WyoTech in Long Beach, CA, the 4th annual Wounded Warrior car show was under way. But amidst all of the hot rods and automotive muscle, something inspiring was afoot. The Semper Fi Fund, working in conjunction with WyoTech students and executives, helped make the dreams of a wounded warrior come true. Staff Sergeant Guillermo Tejada, an amputee who lost both his legs to an IED in Afghanistan, had always dreamed of owning a Camaro. Upon his return from active duty though, such a dream seemed unlikely, much less driving at all. Staff Sergeant Tejada and his family were presented with the specially adapted vehicle, complete with hand controls, a custom paint job and several upgrades, by WyoTech VP Tom Stein, himself a former Marine, and Semper Fi Fund’s Outreach Representative Lisa Stehle. After several photo ops, the emotional ceremony concluded with SSgt. Tejada realizing his dream as he pulled away in his new Camaro. We salute SSgt. Tejada, thank him for his service, and wish him and his family all the best.
